Sited close to Erskine, Paisley and Renfrew, Glasgow International Airport (GLA) is located 13 km / 8 miles west of the city centre and is the gateway to the south and the west of Scotland. More than nine million passengers fly from Glasgow Airport to over 80 worldwide destinations every year, making this Scotland's busiest airport, closely followed by Edinburgh.In total there are around 40 different airlines and these include a number of budget services, which operate from the separate Terminal 2 building. The nearest railway station is situated within the nearby town of Paisley and there are several departures to Glasgow city centre, Ayr and the Clyde Coast throughout the day. In addition to buses and trains, a fleet of airport taxis operate 24 hours a day and gather next to the main terminal building.
